TEM began primarily as a stamping shop, and this is an area in which we excel, having both mechanical and hydraulic press systems. Hydraulic presses are flexible and easy for punching and forming operations. Even stamping can be done on the same press with the most inexpensive tooling. When it comes to use on such components, hydraulic presses are a better solution than mechanical presses and press brakes involving fairly expensive dies.

Hydraulic presses not only allow for fast set ups, but also eliminate many forming functions and secondary forming operations. Materials handling cost is thus reduced. Numerous forming operations can be performed, including countersinks, land-and-form, deep draw, pierce-and-form, louvers and single/double electrical knockouts along with marking of company logo and part numbers.

TEM, Inc’s 500-ton hydraulic press has a major advantage of dwelling and ram speed control, which mechanical presses just don’t have. For better material properties during forming and longer tool life, the adjustable and slower ram speed are necessary to optimize material flow, which in turn leads to higher quality product. The full control over speed, position and dwell produces greater accuracy and a crisp, clean shape and look.
