TEM INC tooling engineering and machining

TEM Inc. was founded in 1976 by Don Churchill and Charlie Wojchowski. Don began his career in 1961 upon graduation from the Maine Vocational Technical Institute in South Portland, Maine. Starting out as a tool and die maker in a local shop, Don eventually met Charlie and the two decided to form their own company specializing in the design of dies and tooling. In the beginning, they farmed out the manufacture of their designs but soon discovered that they needed to maintain better control of their product and brought that function in house. After fourteen years, Charlie retired and Don moved the company from its rented location to a new, 18,000 square foot industrial plant in Buxton. The company continued to grow in size, capabilities, and customer base until 1998 when Don retired. David King, a long-time employee who had begun his career at TEM just a month after it began operations in 1976, purchased the company from Don. A Machine Tool Technology graduate of Southern Maine Technical College, Dave expanded the workforce to over 35 full and part-time employees, and added another 8,000 square feet of warehouse space. To this day, TEM continues to provide superior product and service to its customers.
